A iconic print of Edward VI taken from our British Portrait collection. Edward VI was crowned King of England In 1547, aged nine. Shown here at about thirteen, the artist flatters the young ruler by depicting the flowers turning towards him as he outshines the sun. The roses reference the Tudor dynasty to which Edward belonged - red for the House of Lancaster and white for the House of York.
